Crosslane
Privacy policy
Crosslane is made by Lumen Labs Limited, under our games imprint Red Vector Games. This policy explains what the game collects, why, and what you can do about it.
The short version: Crosslane collects no personal information at all unless you choose to create an account, and even then only your email address. There are no adverts, no third-party trackers, no advertising identifiers, and nothing is ever sold.
1. Playing without an account
You can play the entire game without giving us anything.
When you first open Crosslane, the game creates an anonymous identifier — a random string with no connection to you, your phone, or any other app. It exists so your progress can be saved and so a score can be attributed to somebody. It is not an advertising ID, and it cannot be used to recognise you elsewhere.
Deleting the app deletes that identifier permanently.
2. If you create an account
Creating an account is optional and only offered once you have progress worth protecting. If you do:
| What | Why |
|---|---|
| Email address | So you can sign back in on a new phone, and reset your password |
| Password | Stored and verified by Google Firebase Authentication. We never see it |
Your email is never shown to other players, never used for marketing, and never attached to your analytics or gameplay records.
3. If you post a score
Choosing a display name puts it, and your score, on a public leaderboard visible to every other player. That is the point of a leaderboard, but it is worth stating plainly: your display name is public. Pick accordingly. Your email is never shown.
4. Your saved progress
If you have an account, your game progress — chapter, level, runs completed, which vehicle you prefer, your avatar colour, and the country you selected — is saved to our servers so it follows you to a new device.
This is private. Our security rules permit only your own account to read it; no other player can access it, and it is not shared with anyone.
5. Gameplay analytics
We record how the game is played so we can tell whether it is too hard, where people get stuck, and what is broken. Every event is attached to the anonymous identifier from §1 — never to your email or name.
What we record: which chapters and stories you attempt and complete, how far you run, how long runs last, coins and gems collected, stumbles and near misses, experience and level, whether you were blocked by a level gate, which daily goals you finish, which screens you open, and whether an account action succeeded or failed.
Also recorded: your platform (iOS or Android), the app version, your device's language setting, and the country you chose in your profile.
What we do NOT record — ever:
- Your name, email, or any contact detail alongside gameplay data
- Your location. Country is what you typed in your profile, nothing more
- Any device identifier, advertising ID, or IDFA
- Your contacts, photos, microphone, camera, files, or any other app
- Anything at all that would let us or anyone else identify you personally
There are no third-party analytics or advertising SDKs in Crosslane. None.
6. Who else touches your data
Google (Firebase) is our only processor. Firebase Authentication holds account credentials; Cloud Firestore holds scores, saves and analytics. Data is stored in Google's data centres in the United States.
If you are in the UK or the EU, this means your data is transferred outside your country. That transfer is made under Google's standard contractual clauses, which form part of the Firebase terms we are signed up to.
Google processes this on our behalf under their terms. Nobody else receives your data. We do not sell it, and we do not share it for advertising.
7. Children
Crosslane is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us at the address below and we will delete it.
8. How long we keep things
- Analytics — retained while useful for improving the game
- Scores and display names — kept while the leaderboard exists
- Account and saved progress — kept until you delete your account
9. Your rights and how to delete your data
In the app: Profile → Account → Delete account. This removes your account, your saved progress, your leaderboard entry and your display name immediately, and clears the game from this device. It cannot be undone.
You can also email support@lumenlabshq.com and we will action it within 30 days. See Crosslane support for the full route.
Gameplay analytics are not deleted with the account. They carry only the anonymous identifier, never your email or name, and once the account is gone that identifier no longer refers to anybody. If you would rather they were removed outright, say so in your email and we will delete them too.
Depending on where you live you may also have the right to access a copy of your data, correct it, object to how we use it, or complain to your data protection regulator. In the UK and EU those rights come from UK/EU GDPR; in California, from the CCPA. Use the same address for any of them.
10. Changes
If this policy changes materially we will update the date above and note it in the app's release notes.
